Deliver social benefits
All the hard work that has gone into planning and designing value into the project in terms of social benefits should not be lost through careless actions at the delivery stage.
You should consider:
- Engaging with local communities
- Arranging school visits to improve understanding of the construction process
- Encouraging work experience opportunities
- Providing employment opportunities for disadvantaged groups
- Recruiting local apprentices
- Managing health and safety on site

Manage health and safety on site
The ability to manage the health and wellbeing of all personnel on a construction site is the most fundamental and critical aspect of any project. Injuries and accidents of any magnitude will reflect badly on the delivery team as well as the reputations of the organisations involved.
Assuming that appropriate processes and procedures have been developed through the planning and design stages you should be in a good position to deliver safely through this stage.
- Maintain a zero tolerance culture on site
- Conduct regular training of all site personnel
- Include staff, supply chain, client and stakeholders in any training programmes
