Sharing best practice

The best way to improve processes and outcomes is to share experiences and learning. There are a number of ways to do this, most notably through Constructing Excellence in Wales’ best practice programmes and events and the Best Practice Clubs located in North, Southeast and Southwest Wales.

You should consider:

Finally share your lessons learnt. You can show someone else “HOW  2” deliver better value

Share your experiences

Whilst this project has been successfully delivered the delivery team will move onto their next challenge. This may have been a one off for the client but if this is part of a wider programme consider how the team can continue to work together. The procurement route will clearly determine the ability for “repeat business” but skills learnt by the client team can be very valuable on future projects.

Also don’t forget that the client will remember the last thing that happened and they will want to “brag” to others about their new asset. The more that is right at the handover and post occupancy stages, the more positive will be the reputational outcomes for all parties and the better chance of repeat business.

 Organise best practice events/site visits

If your project is already part of Constructing Excellence in Wales’ demonstration or exemplar programmes best practice events and site visits will already be planned. However, if not and you feel the experiences gained on your project are worthy of sharing with others just contact the team at www.cewales.org.uk and they will help you to make arrangements via their extensive database of contacts across the industry.
